Historic Pealer Hall is a community gathering space in Dushore, Pennsylvania. The property, bought in 2019 to preserve it from demolition, maintains its original facade and details, making it a rich historical addition to the small town. I was hired to create the logo and visual identity for the business, which is now a community gathering space and event hall. The client’s goal was to preserve the vintage aesthetic, while making a more appealing cohesive visual identity. The focus was on the building itself and its notable presence in the small town’s main streets.

The original ideation started with a symmetrical, simplified version Pealer Hall, featuring primarily the molding, windows, and striped awning that was to be added later. When this seemed a bit too clean for the vintage identity, I also created a more textured version of the building icon using a photo from the 3/4ths angle to add a more dynamic and rustic feel. With these two icons, I generated a set of drafts with the blue of Pealer Hall’s exterior and a burgundy chosen by the client.
